Check out the incredible Arabic meal we had this week, from Modern Flavors of Arabia.

I served this colourful feast family-style, so  that everyone could pile on their favourites.

We had chicken Shish Kebab - marinated in yogurt, citrus, garlic and lots of spices and grilled to perfection. A family favourite!

Rice and Lentil Pilaf (Mjadara) is a savoury blend of basmati rice, lentils and warm spices, topped with deep fried crispy onions. Delicious!

I served the meal with a colourful Beet Salad, thinly sliced cooked beets with citrus and fresh herbs.

And for all of us lovers of the stinky rose, Mimi's Toum - a traditional garlic sauce from Lebanon. All hail garlic!

We had such a wonderful time travelling to the countries of Arabia in our kitchen and you will too. What a delightful way to start the fall season!

Now I'm off to find Arabic dinner music, somehow my Jann Arden seemed out of place....

Over at Crave they have a wonderful recipe excerpt for Meat-Filled Pasta in Herb Yogurt Sauce (Shish Barak)
Try it in your home this week!
